1857 - School established
1951 - School closed because of consolidation
1963 - The museum was formed and opened by a group of Kripplebush ladies led by Dorothy Winchell
1995 - Museum closed for repair work
April 1998 - An Open House was held to determine community interest in preserving the museum. The responses were positive, encouraging and supportive.
June 1998 - Proceeds from a community garden tour sponsored by two local realtors donated to aid the museum
February - 1999 - The Provisional Charter was received from the NY State Education Department
July 1999 - Nineteen former students and others gathered on the school house grounds to share history and identify old photos for future display
August 1999 - Ownership of the museum and adjoining lodge hall transferred from the Kripplebush-Lyonsville Fire Company to the Museum Trustees
Spring 2000 - Campaign to raise funds for restoration begins
Summer 2000 - Spring 2001 - Schoolhouse building completely overhauled with a new roof, new sill, fresh coat of paint and a new system of roof supports is put in place. The building is set up the way it would have looked in the early 1900s.
Summer 2001 - The museum is now open every Sunday July through September
Summer 2002 - Campaign to raise funds for Lodge Hall restoration begins
Summer 2003 - The Lodge Hall receives a new roof from a state grant and a fresh coat of paint is applied. The Hall now displays authentic furniture and articles from the early days of Kripplebush
Summer 2007 - Work begins on designing an informational sign for the front of the building and hooking up both buildings to electricity.
